And The Drama Queen Award Goes To........KENYA MOORE!

Let's be real. We all have watched Real Housewives of Atlanta, and if you're like me, you've probably seen all of the seasons. So, let me turn your attention to a particular cast mate, Miss Kenya Moore. She is this BIGGEST drama starter on the show, stirring up turmoil between her and her cast mates. A few in particular would be Miss Porcha, Miss Phaedra, and Miss NeNe, none of which have any problem laying hands or words to Kenya when the time is necessary. For all of you viewers that haven't kept track of the show, let's go back to the beginning of the latest season (Season 6). Kenya took it upon herself to create an issue at NeNe's adult slumber party. With that situation, NeNe brought up an issue about Kenya saying that a fellow wife's husband wasn't really her husband. She stated that he had told the public that he didn't "claim" her as his wife, and that they had a "common law" marriage. My reaction was this: who are you, as a woman, to come into someone's love life and wreak havoc? Is it because everyone on the show has a man but you? Moving on, Cynthia threw her annual Bailey Bowl. There was much tension between NeNe and Marlo simply because NeNe didn't want to be friends with Marlo anymore. The incident should've died right there, but Kenya took things a step further by saying some off of the wall things about NeNe and her friendship. That was not her place to even come in between NeNe and Marlo and the issues that they had between each other. The highlight of the show did not happen until Kenya made things apparent that she saw Miss Phaedra's husband, Apollo, as more than a friend. Throughout season six of the show, Kenya avidly made Apollo a topic of discussion. She made it a priority to put herself in the same airspace as him, even though Phaedra told her time and time again not to mess with her husband. The issue came to ahead on the Season 6 Reunion pt.3, where Phaedra shut Kenya and her comments down. Phaedra's entire stand point was that Kenya constantly makes Apollo a topic of discussion, but Kenya find herself going from sperm bank to sperm bank just to have a child because she couldn't find a marriage (much less a man) on her own. This was her last stitch effort to have the baby that she's always wanted. I do feel like Phaedra was not in the wrong, plus Kenya had given herself the title of "Queen of the Shade". I feel all of the drama she has created, and all of the friendships she has ruined is finally coming back to haunt her. If that situation wasn't bad enough, she thoroughly put Miss Porcha in a bad headspace by doing with Kenya does best: THE MOST. If the septor didn't cause Porsha's blood to boil, the sudden use a blow-horn certainly did the trick. Porsha snapped. Kenya got her behind handed to her on the silver platter she thought she thought she deserved. And we all know, Kenya deserved that, and then some.
All in all, Kenya tried so hard to create friends on the show. Maybe she felt like she didn't have anybody. Maybe she needed the attention because everyone else had something going on in their lives. You have Miss Kandy with her play and her wedding. You have Miss NeNe with her fame and her guest appearances and reoccurring roles on various shows. Miss Cynthia has her bar and her modeling agency. Miss Phaedra has her new degree, her law firm, and her funeral home. Miss Porsha has a leg up with where she wants to go in life with being a cast mate in Kandy's play. Finally, you have Kenya: broke, single by default, and nothing going on in her life. It makes sense for a woman that desperate for attention to want to stir up a bunch of drama amongst women who have things going on and marriages to tend to. MORAL OF THE STORY: If Kenya Moore spent less time trolling through sperm banks and getting on people's nerves, and more time building her brand and building herself up as a middle-aged, black female, maybe she would have a husband and maybe she would have some actual friends. Remember, no one wants to be friends with a drama starter.

Cheating is for Dummies

Do you ever get the feeling in the pit of your stomach that your significant other is a little bit distant, or extra, EXTRA happy when you know you aren't the reason behind the smile? Well, your significant other may just be stepping out on you.
There are various reasons why men and women feel it necessary to cheat: stress at home, stress at work, finances, or it's just not where they want to be. If you are unsure if your man or woman is cheating, here are some telltale signs that you may not be the only one (these are signs that I've seen or experienced. Feel free to add your own signs if necessary.)

1. If this person has to delete ANYTHING off of their phone, computer, tablet, or any other electronic device, it's time for your red flags to soar high. If this person really cares for you and has nothing to hide, what would be there to delete? You should be allowed to check emails, text messages, call logs, and social networking sites with no problem, and that person should have no problem letting you. If that person says no, something is going on and you should probably investigate just to make sure. With that being said, you may find pictures of naked females (or males), some raunchy text messages, or random phone calls in the middle of the night. If this is the case, something is going on. But usually if there is something incriminating in that person's phone, chances are you won't even get the opportunity to actually go through anything.
2. If that person comes up with a million and five different excuse for why you can't go through any of their stuff, INVESTIGATE. There is nothing like gathering hard evidence to prove your theory.
3. If that person starts coming home later and later from work, and you know for a fact that they usually don't come home that late, it's time to pay attention. Especially if it has become habitual, like an everyday thing.
4. If you and your significant other share an account and you notice that there are some funds missing, check it out. When you do check things out and notice that there are charges from places such as Victoria Secret, or Bath and Body Works (for women), and Men's Warehouse (for men), then the red flag has to be drawn. My suggestion is to start asking questions immediately, especially if you know you don't wear Victoria's Secret or shop at Men's Warehouse.
5. If that person has to step outside the house, or go into another room just to have a phone conversation, it's time to pay attention. I would ask that age old question, "who were you talking to", or "since when do you need to step out of the room just to answer the phone?" There should be NO secret conversations going on in a relationship, unless someone has something to hide.
6. If your house phone, or your significant other's cell phone, is ringing at ungodly hours of the night and morning, and it is NOT family or children, what is that? RED FLAG. No one should be calling your house at anytime during the midnight hours unless it's a family emergency, or a family death. Otherwise, it's no excuse.
7. If your significant other has been working ALLLLLLLL day, but comes home smelling like a fresh shower, that's a telltale sign that your love is cheating. How did you manage to smell like soap, when you have been working all day long? The sense is not adding up.
8. If your significant other is constantly accusing you of cheating, it might be because they're the ones out there doing the cheating. They just want to take the attention off of them so that you don't find out what it is they are really doing when they aren't at home. This isn't always the case though. In fact, this sign is only significant when you honestly know that YOU have been 100% faithful.
This is just some of many signs that your significant other is being unfaithful. I do suggest that if you feel like that person is stepping out on you, then investigate your theory. Ask questions and pay attention to what is going on. Spot the differences and the changes in habits and routines. What you never want to do is to come at that person with a whole bunch of different accusations and rumors without any proof that infidelity is actually going on. MORAL OF THE STORY: Pay attention to what changes, and have proof before you start pointing the finger.

Hart vs. Epps Beef

I know you all have heard about the Kevin vs. Mike beef. Apparently, Mike Epps went on K104 , in Dallas, and said some not so nice things about the Think Like A Man costar and his rise to fame. The beef then escalated when Kevin Hart fired shots against Mike Epps via Twitter, calling Mike Epps a hater. My Opinion? Let's be real about this for a minute. Kevin Hart is wildly successful with various movies and sold-out shows. He is one of the most successful comedians in the game right now. I say, leave it alone because regardless of whether it's his talent or his excellent marketing team, the check still clears at the end of the day. Don't get me wrong though. Mike Epps has had his share of funnies from Next Friday to All About the Benjamins, but it's just like that Nicki Minaj vs. Lil Kim beef. His time has come and gone. I will always consider him one of the greats of my era (dating myself there lol), but its time to pass the torch along. Not to mention, this is 2014. Everything, involving the media, is overly marketed to the audiences today......especially children and teenagers. MORAL OF THE STORY: Mike Epps needs to sit on his throne and let lil Kevin Hart take over. I mean, he is hilarious!

Donald Sterling Ban ???

I wanted to take some time before i could address the Donald Sterling incident (Los Angeles Clippers owner who was recorded telling a girlfriend that he didn’t want her to bring black people to his games just in case you've been living under a rock) and gather my thoughts to tackle the Gorilla in the room.
Donald Sterling, the longtime owner of the Los Angeles Clippers, was barred from the N.B.A. for life and may be forced to sell the team for making racist remarks, the league commissioner, Adam Silver, announced today.Sterling’s time as owner of the Clippers has been marked by player unrest, accusations of racism and sexism, and until the team began winning consistently three years ago, incompetent basketball management. You could also look into his past exploits such as refusing to rent to minority families, having a racist attitude during negotiations,or moving his franchise to Los Angeles without league approval.Banning a billionaire for life and fining him 2.5 million is like putting a Band Aid on a gunshot wound, and to be honest i didn't really care about what he said, i'm more worried about a group of people like him that continues to deny people of a certain shade opportunities (jobs, housing, bank loans) or the police, prosecutor, and the judge that will change your life, i don't care if you're racist just get out of our way, banning Sterling just was a message to the corporations to keep denying Blacks access and opportunity as long as they keep it under wraps. This is not a time to rejoice as if 40 Acres and A Mule are being given.I love how people celebrate "Victories" that deliver no change, how quick do people forget when the same situations has been reappearing repetitively.

Atlanta Housewife, Porsha, Needs a Round of Applause!!

So, I know all of you Real Housewives of Atlanta fans saw the Reunion on Sunday. If you didn't, you've missed out because fan favorite, Porsha, had done the unthinkable. Just to recap, Kenya was doing the absolute most with her whole septor and what not. That was what first made Porsha so upset. The final moments of sanity went out the window when Kenya pulls out a bullhorn, and then says some choice words to Porsha.....and Porsha reacted the way that she did. My opinion? Porsha did EXACTLY what she was supposed to do. We all know that Kenya's had her hands in a lot of drama throughout the past few seasons, but this particular season was out of hand. I mean, all of the fans out there watched the season, so no need to recap. She did the absolute most, creating massive amounts of drama amongst the circle. So, I see no reason why anything Porsha did was so bad. I do not feel like she embarrassed herself at all, and I do think that Kenya got what she deserved. You can't expect to create drama amongst females and not expect the outcome to be horrible. Not to mention, anybody on that stage would've jumped on Kenya had they been provoked......but it was Porsha, and karma is a bitch. I'm on #TeamPorsha 100%!!

Smell The Coffee!!!!

It seems as if people not deliberately making a fool of themselves, they will not get the platform needed to advance their cause. But that should not be an excuse to lose your common sense and just do Dumb Shit (look at reality TV,Twitter,News etc... for further reference).People like to pretend as if they have sense and purpose,as if they have a secret that the rest of the world couldn't do without, and at the end it's just hot air and no substance.Everybody is putting on to some extent in order to mask their insecurities, and when criticized for their actions, their only retort is that they're getting money.... As if that will prevent them from looking like clowns. When does it stop ? When are we going to use our logic instead of our emotions? We have been taught to scream and yell when faced with a problem and look at the lovely results it has produced. It's like being lost in the highway while closing your eyes and stepping on the Gas.I feel that we need to focus on the task at hand while disregarding trivial things that are proving to be detrimental to our well being.

Love Begins At Home

NOTE: The views expressed here are those of the authors and do not necessarily represent or reflect the views of WSCT Grind or it's affiliates.

We cannot walk around talking about how much we love each other because it's a grand lie that only spreads the poison that is affecting us a whole. We should admit that we can't stand ourselves nor each other, and the first people that we should admit it to is the person that we face in the mirror. It's like telling the judge that you've murdered your significant other because you loved him/her, where's the rationale ? We are just grinning from ear to ear to talking about love in a system where injustice reigns supreme, and i'm here to tell you that it's time for another approach which is to minimize conflict by keeping our distance from each other until we have something to say or do that is of  constructive value to improve our situation. It's time to become comfortable with who we are by ourselves in order to give something of value to the collective,or we will straggle in the same confusion that has kept us captive for so long due to our self hatred.

Mimi Faust: Let's Talk About It!

Mimi Faust is known for her relationship with Stevie J, on VH1's Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta. However these days, she is know for her steamy sex-tape with long time boyfriend, Niko. This is the same Mimi Faust that constantly downgraded Joseline Hernandez, new girlfriend to Stevie J. She called her every name in the book from stripper hoe, to slut, to BITCH! My Opinion? Mimi needs to shut that shit down. You have officially labelled yourself what society calls A HOE. Now by all means, if putting out a sex tape makes you happy, then do so. However, please discontinue calling other women out of their names. She has officially put herself in that same category Joseline is in. The only difference is Joseline just doesn't care about what people call her. Mimi apparently does since she recently posted a photo on Instagram saying, "If you don't pay my bills, shh." My thing is nobody is talking about the fact that she actually posted a sex-tape online for the world to see, but the fact that she had so much to say about Joseline being a stripper. I wonder what she plans to say about Joseline now. It is likely that it won't be much because now, Joseline has some ammo to use against Mimi. But Mimi set herself up for that. Moral of the Story: Make sure your hands are squeaky clean before you go passing judgement on someone else. Mimi Faust can't (and I doubt she ever would) say anything about Joseline, so it's time for her and insults to have a few seats because she is officially no better.

Double Standards

"To my niggas having bitches is what you just do. To the bitches having niggas is what a slut do." - Ab-Soul.....How much of a double standard is this? When a man has multiple women, its cool. He gets much respect from his boys, and even a few more females come crawling in his bed at night. Let a female do the same thing. They have words for us, somewhere along the lines of HOE or SLUT. But why? Simple! Throughout history, it was not a woman's place to be out and about. Our role was to stay home, tend to the millions of children, and do many chores to make sure that the house is up to par when the husband comes home. What I don't understand is the fact that it is now the year 2014, and women are bringing home twice as much money as a man can bring home....yet still be bonded to the age old theory that a woman is nasty for doing the same thing a man has been doing for years and years.....HAVING SEX! Why is it such a big issue? If a man can go out to the streets and pick up women at any given time, shouldn't a woman be allowed to do the same thing? She shouldn't be forced into ridicule and exile because of an age-old society rule. My opinion? LIFE IS TOO DAMN SHORT!!! If you feel as though you want to casually have sex, then by all means you are well within your right to do so.....man or woman. It's all about being happy with who you are and what you are doing.

On the flip side, it's the same thing when men, who have had a homosexual experience, are automatically assumed gay. Based off of what? That one sexual experience? That's not fair considering the fact that you may not know the circumstances behind the experience. Maybe, he did it but didn't like it. However, let a female have her homosexual experience. Guys act like it's porn or something......the hottest shit they've seen. I could walk down the street screaming I kissed a girl, and the testosterone would be all over it.....and they'd come with questions about threesomes and dildos. Basically, it's nasty when one does it but not the other. Just like females having multiple men. It's nasty when women do it, but not for men.

It's a double standard for a double standard. MORAL OF THE STORY: AGAIN, LIFE IS TOO DAMN SHORT??? Who cares if you decide to be straight after thinking you could be gay. Who cares if a woman wants to have two, three, four, five men at one time. That's not your life, it's theirs. This means that at the end of the day, they'll have to live with those choice, NOT YOU! Get over yourself, get over what society considers "normal', and go live your own life.

The power of MUSIC has Pharrell in tears

When you think of music you just think of your favorite song,  maybe even the strange clothes 2 Chainz had on in his last video, or the fact that sometimes Weezy doesnt make sense. What we dont think about is how timeless it is. How its an artists permanent contribution to humanity. A record that will remain in our worlds history until the end. Its deeper than most people understand. Pharrell gets it and I applaud his contribution to our lives and memories of great music that will last forever.

Gay vs Straight Relationships: It Won't Make Life Better

I hear so many people talking about why they chose to be gay, or bisexual (or lesbian lol). I get all the usual stories. You know, "I was born this way", or "I just like such and such." But then there are those few ones that are just like, "I had a bad experience with him/her, so I thought that this would be better." My opinion? WTF were you thinking??? It does not matter if you decide to spend your time with a guy or a girl, a relationship is still a relationship. When people say stupid shit like that, I wonder if they think that aspects like trust, or, commitment, or quality time have a specific gender. Like life is so much better being gay or something! NO! It just doesn't work that way. Trust issues don't change just because you decide to explore the whiles of a female, instead of the usual male. Commitment doesn't just up and get better just because you made the decision to be with a man, instead of the usual female. Shit like that requires the same amount of effort, whether its a gay, straight, lesbian, or bisexual relationship. That's just like saying that getting through school would be easier if you were a different race. NO!! Getting through school would be easier if you put down the blunt and the bottle, and do some damn homework. All I'm saying is this: Nothing changes by being in a gay relationship (or vice versa). The issues are still there. The trust, the commitment, the time, the love, it's still there whether you want to try it with a man......or a woman. None of the aspects of a relationship will suddenly disappear. And another thing: Instead of trying to change who you are just to find love, maybe you should focus your brain on other things and let God be the guide to your soul mate.

Dumbing Down the SAT: It Won't Help

I read an article today about The United States dumbing down the SAT for those that aren't academically inclined. My opinion? TOTAL BULLSHIT! What is this saying about the generations today? Maybe that the generation is incapable of getting the top score of 2400, or that we can't learn words that are obviously far out of our reading level. That's not going to help. Dumbing down the SAT just so the generation can slide into college easy is a no go for me. If the United States is so concerned about the welfare and education of the children growing up in this generation, why not implement some strategies that can ACTUALLY HELP! Tutoring those students that need the extra help or the extra push in school. Pushing students beyond their limits to prepare them to go to high school and then to college. Preparing students for the SAT and the ACT, so that when the time comes to face these tests, they'll be able to do it and do it successfully. This way they can get into top notch schools with impressive scores. Dumbing down the SAT is but a mere crutch, making it that much easier to fail when they get to the universities of their choice. They will have a much harder time adjusting to the material, especially at universities such as Duke, Cornell, Harvard, and Princeton because the government failed to properly educate our students. Educators at these colleges are not going to take pity on students that just can't do the work. Unfortunately, the United States can't see past sending unprepared students to college, make them pay a bunch of money on student loans for a degree that will only allow for them to make significantly less than those that haven't gone to college, therefore working some pointless ass job making just above minimum wage. This is not fair. This is what is going to send our students into a world of hard times because instead of pushing students to prep for important situations (such as taking the SAT), they dumb down the SAT just so society doesn't have to deal with students dropping out of college or not even going for that matter. I think it's a ridiculous idea. I think it's setting our kids up to fail tremendously. I think it's a waste of our children's education because if the government is willing to dumb down the SAT, what does that mean for daily learning at school? Are they going to make it easier for students to pass their classes by teaching them 2 + 2, instead of finding the linear equation using the quadratic formula. Colleges and universities are not going to recap on the concept of 2+2 or what does "apple" mean and use it in a sentence. It's just not fair to the students within this generation who are actually smart and are trying to get those top notch scores. This won't test their capabilities either. I feel sorry for those that agree with this. I feel even worry for the sorry ass government who came up with the idea that dumbing down the SAT would actually help students, instead of hurting them.......even though it's clearly the other way around.

R.I.P Frankie Knuckles

Frankie Knuckles 'The Godfather Of House Music ' passed away of complications related to Type II Diabetes. He was 59 years old.Knuckles was born in The Bronx in 1955 and began DJing in New York in the ’70s with Larry Levan. After moving to Chicago in 1977 he played at the famed Warehouse and then his own club, The Power Plant. He remained an integral part of house music throughout the decades, producing seminal records ‘Your Love’, ‘Baby Wants To Ride’ and ‘The Whistle song' and a Remixer for Michael Jackson,Luther Vandross ,and Toni Braxton.

Knuckles won the 1997 Grammy Award for Remixer of the Year, Non-Classical. In 2004, the city of Chicago - which "became notorious in the dance community around the world for passing the so-called 'anti-rave ordinance' in 2000 that made property owners, promoters and deejays subject to $10,000 fines for being involved in an unlicensed dance party" - named a stretch of street in Chicago[ after Knuckles, where the old Warehouse once stood, on Jefferson Street between Jackson Boulevard and Madison Street. That stretch of street, called Frankie Knuckles Way, "was renamed when the city declared 25 August 2004 as Frankie Knuckles Day. The Illiniois state senator who helped make it happen was Barack Obama.

Focus On The Journey !!!!!!

"Focus on the journey not the destination ". I've heard that many times but i never got it .We all are striving for our goals under the notion that life will be better once that objective has been met, and and i trust that we work hard towards them. But sometimes it can be a bit draining, especially when you feel like that end goal is so far away.It dawned on me that we achieve more with no goals in mind, and your work should be your satisfaction. When i got involved in with my current endeavor i thought that i was going to be rich within 1 year (How foolish of me),now fast forward 4 years later i'm grateful that didn't happen because i would've lost my money and my mind (what's left of it). It's important to focus on the journey  because there will be time when we take a wrong turn or get stuck somewhere, it would count as lost time. Frustration and increasing pressure will get the best of you if don't love the process, and you'll quit (i don't know what that word means).
Focusing on the process is the way to success and i know people with great goals that gave up when their enthusiasm depleted.Goals might motivate you to get started with something, but they aren’t sufficient to keep you motivated.Success = hard work + preparation+ persistence, luck only shows up at dessert, and you'll only pass out if you attempt to sprint in a marathon.

Rapping over a College Degree: A Young, Black Man's Priorities

I think that it is funny how young black men would give up going to college and getting a degree, just for a rap career that may not happen. What is more funny is the fact that most of the past and present rap artists, that these black men look up to, actually have some type of degree. Most young men don't realize this simply because of the whole "Fuck School" mentality. So for those hard-headed black men that think that a college degree just isn't necessary, the artists, that I am about to name, beg to differ:
1. J. Cole has a Bachelors Degree in Communications, with a minor in Business from St. John's University.
2. David Banner has a Business degree for Southern University.
3. Ludacris has a Bachelor's degree in Music Management from Georgia State University.
4. Ice Cube allegedly has a Bachelor's degree in Architecture from Phoenix Institute of Technology.
5. Ryan Leslie has a degree in Government and Economics from Harvard University.
6. M.I.A. received her degree in Fine Arts, Video, and Film from London's Central Saint Martin's College of Art and Design.
7. Talib Kweli has a degree in Experimental Theatre Design from New York University.
8. Both Flava Flav and Chuck D (from Public Enemy) have a degree from Adelphi University.
9. Guru (from Gang Star) received a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Morehouse College.
10. Phonte (from Little Brother and The Foreign Exchange) has a Bachelor's Degree in English from North Carolina Central University.
And if that didn't convince you to obtain a college degree, even as back-up, here are a few others:
2 Chainz went to University of Alabama. Common went to Florida A&M University. Kanye West went to Chicago State University. Lil Wayne went to the University of Houston. And last, but not least, Rick Ross went to Alabama State University.

Still think that a college degree isn't important? If so, know that a college degree is very important. I understand that college isn't for everybody, and that is true. Not everyone can take on a heavy responsibility such as college (and college life), but to choose something so temporary as a rap career over furthering your education says a lot about the priorities these young black men have. My opinion? Not everyone can rap, just like not everyone can deal with college, but don't ever think that a potential rap career is more important than a degree that you can use at any given time....even if it's something to fall back on. If you want to rap, do that. Follow your dreams, but have a back-up plan just in case that dream is deferred.

Nation Building

Most American Blacks are descended from Africans, who were brought here hundreds of years ago through no will of their own. Having their cultural identities stripped away, the descendants of these Africans have vague – if any- social and historical perceptive.
Without first-hand knowledge of their roots, many American Blacks can only shape their views of Africa based upon what has been said and written in both the media and distorted history books, which tells us of a continent full of war-torn countries, starving people and corrupt leaders, who continue to profit from the betrayal of its people. I didn't understand why a lot of blacks born in America had a issue with their heritage. In the early sixties it was insulting to be called black. But in the late nineteen sixties we were wearing our African clothing, our African head-dress. Too most people the Negro and colored phrases were dropped, black was most definitely in, and that's what most of us wanted to be called by other races.
Still today, some of the southern states and rural areas still call us coloreds or Negroes. While these phrases are insulting to most young and middle-aged African-Americans, there are older African-Americans that would prefer to be called colored or Negro. To be called black is insulting to them.
Then there are those "African-Americans or blacks" that are ashamed of being called African-Americans. If you ask them they will tell you they are not ashamed to be African-Americans. They say they would rather be called by their name than to be called a race.
On the flip side are the migrant Africans, from various parts of the continent, who are either unfamiliar or ambivalent with the past and continued struggle of American blacks. In some cases, these native-born Africans carry some of their own prejudices, which too have been perpetuated through the media. For example, believing that African-Americans are too racially ambiguous to be considered “full-blood” Africans or believing that Blacks harbor a deep-seated “chip on their shoulder” syndrome about slavery, which has prohibited them from fully taken advantages of the land of opportunity.
The result is that many native-born Africans and African-Americans have become ignorant to each other’s complex realities, choosing to maintain a separate identity and not fully capitalizing of each other’s various strengths.

However, while cultural differences remain, our shared future in a country, where racial discrimination and intimidation still exist, have a greater power to unite both sides of the same black coin. In other words, while we may continue to divide intra-racially, there are others, who only see “black” and will react accordingly – just ask the likes of Amadou Diallo and Sean Bell.
To bridge the divide, there must be a collective effort to develop a mutual respect and understanding of one another’s struggle, strengths and triumphs.  Our people, collectively, have to understand that colonization in some ways was no different than slavery and its impact of how we view ourselves, and each other, is all relative. Perhaps we are in need of another “Back to Africa” movement, like what was started by Jamaican-born Marcus Garvey, in which the primary focus is on educating, outreach and reconciliation of all people of African descent worldwide.
One could hope that African Americans and Africans alike will someday realize the importance of economic, political and cultural linkages with our brothers and sisters and embrace the term “African” no matter where they may reside in the Diaspora.

Message to the Sideline Hoe

There is nothing okay about being someone's back-up, or most widely referred to as "The Sideline Hoe'. Sideline hoes take this role way too serious. For all women with this role, you are not important. You have no power. These women have the idea that a man, who doesn't even belong to her, wants to be with her. My question is well, what makes you think he wants to be with you? Because he has sex with you, or he runs to you when shit just isn't going right at home? Let me tell you something. Real men only need one female. Real women only want to be the only one, not the main one and certainly not the main squeeze. It's a sign of pure desperation when a woman wants to lay next to a man knowing that that same man is going home to lay next to his wife. If this is you, you are stupid. See, it's a reason why you are just the mistress. He won't take you out in public. Why? Because he has a woman for that. He takes his wife in public just to make sure people never find out about you. He won't spend Christmas or Valentine's Day with you. Why? Because he has his own family. Don't ever think that holidays are to be spent with you. It hasn't, and will never, happen like that. He only calls you after 12 am. Why? Because 10 pm is the time most families are sleep, especially families with children. Oh, he won't give you children. Why? Because he already has is own family. He doesn't want from you what he already has at home. It just wouldn't make sense. There is no room for you. You are the female he calls when he can't deal with the real woman he has at home....the woman you want so bad to be, but simply can't. Otherwise, he'd be with you and not the woman he already has. Let this be a lesson to all women: If you are not a sideline, don't ever put yourself in a position to take on that role. You have too much self-worth and dignity to creep around with a man who can't even be faithful at home. If you are a sideline, you are a fool and you need to find your own man. Why? Because 1. You'll never have that luxury of being his woman. He will not leave his foundation for what he considers the hoe of the night. And 2. Because how you get him, is how you will lose him. If you don't know what I mean, I mean if he will cheat with you, he will most definitely cheat on you. Now, there are some men out there that are generally unhappy, and will decide to step out and find a replacement. Maybe he is planning on leaving his wife for you. But, why take that risk? Why risk him leaving you for someone else when he finds himself unhappy again? Don't waste your time, and don't end up the SIDELINE!

The word "Thug" is replacing the "N Word"

So Bill O' Reilly strikes again. First Ludacris loses his Pepsi Endorsement because of this asshole and now Beyonce is a target. I encourage everyone to watch carefully and pay close attention to Bill's comment. "For some of these thugs, thats all they can talk about" So the new word for successful African American entertainers is now "thugs". Be careful because if your black and singing or rapping about anything other than Kumbaya, your a thug. "People that idolize Beyonce are the children of irresponsible parents"? Really Bill? thats how you feel...I didn't know that my multiple college degree holding, business owning ass was irresponsible because i bought my 14 year old daughter a Beyonce CD...I didnt think that qualified me as a bad parent...OMG i'm so awful lmao!! Obviously Bill O'Reilly has an issue with african american entertainers or people, either way his comments are disrespectful and appalling. Truth be told........Entertainers are not role models, great parents are!

I Can't Smoke Pot....but I Can Carry a Gun in Church :)

I know that most of you haven't been paying attention to your dearly beloved government. I mean, it's no secret that they are some of the shadiest people on earth. The very men that preach life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are the very same men that are denying us our freedoms. I recently heard about this gun bill and this whole "medical marijuana bill", and quite frankly, the word "PISSED" does not quite cut it for the situation. In case you guys don't know, I'm about to fill you on in. I just had to express the dumb nature of this situation. So, majority of the House voted in favor of the Medical Marijuana bill being passed. If that wasn't the best part, Majority of the Senate voted in favor of the Medical Marijuana bill being passed. So I ask you, WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED? The bill did not pass. It was denied. Like, its over with until next year. Parents have cried.....shit is brutal. Unlike the the Medical Marijuana bill, guess what bill was passed? The Gun Bill!! This is where anyone can bring their guns into schools, churches, restaurants, the list goes ON! CRAZY SHIT! Niggas forget that 28 people died in the Sandy Hook shooting. 26 elementary school children, lives disrupted by violence! Oh, and do you remember the Virginia Tech shooting in 2007? Yeah, 33 people died, including the shooter. Maybe the government has forgotten. I'm praying that this is all so new to them because anyone, knowing all of these events, would've never made it okay to carry guns virtually everywhere. Frankly, it's the dumbest shit ever. You are asking for that one out of control teenager snatch their teacher's gun, and create another Sandy Brook situation. Maybe, a teacher with a messed up home-life, comes to school and takes it out on the students and teachers. But you thought this was smart idea though, right? Laws that want to condemn gays? Prime example of the lack of separation between church and state, but THESE NIGGAS want to make it okay to carry guns into churches? The fuck do you mean??? As you can see folks, the country that we live in is nothing but a visage of what they think life is like. The reality is it's TOTAL BULLSHIT! But that's just my opinion.....*shrugs* Signing off :P

The Greatest Emcee!

There is some talk about who the best mainstream rapper is. I've heard everyone from Lil Wayne to Jay-Z to Wale to Eminem. There is talk that Wale may be, and then there is Kendrick Lamar. My opinion? You just can't create such a broad category because there are two different categories that determine  whole the best rapper is. Don't know what I'm talking about? I'll explain it like this....
Let's look at lyrical inclination, meaning how well a rapper can put words with words and lyrics with lyrics, and how an artist can convey emotion behind the rhymes. In my opinion, some of the greatest go as far as Tupac and Biggie. There is no denying that. But if we are to fast forward to today's mainstream media, it can be said that Lil Wayne or Jay-Z holds the crown. Lil Wayne has been blessed with the talent of putting words together. My problem is his words just don't make sense. He went from rapping about life in the streets, to rapping about nothing (basically!). There is no poetry, no linkage, no meaning. They're just words strategically placed into sentences that end up making no sense. See, I like Wale, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, B.o.B., and Eminem. When I'm listening to a Wale song, or a J. Cole song, I feel like I'm listening to Def Jam Poetry, and I love that.
We can look at individuality. I'm talking about rappers that have their own distinct style of rap. Something that can't be copied. Most rappers today rap about cars, hoes, money, popping bands, strippers, shit that has no importance in life at all. Then there are those rappers that rap, and they bring a certain extra to their rap. That extra can't be duplicated at all. I'm talking about rappers such as Nicki Minaj, Childish Gambino, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop. The songs are consistently different. You never see the same style being done twice. Wiz Khalifa has his own style, and has created a few fashion trends along the way. I like to call it the "Wiz Khalifa" swag. He, along with Snoop Lion, made it okay to smoke weed on a daily basis and not have to hide it. Nicki Minaj's style is so far fetched from reality that it is ridiculous. However, it's so ridiculous that it works! She took the idea of characters and she turned it into a brand, a trend. She made it her own. It's important to dare to be different.
There are many good rappers out today: Future, Rocko, Pusha T, etc. However, when it comes to Hip-Hop music, good just isn't good enough. A great rapper has Individuality and Excellent Lyrical Content. Honestly, I haven't found that artist yet!!
Signing off :P!

The Moment Of Reckoning

You have good ideas but no money, you have a creative team that does everything right (it could be
worse imagine if all the partners hated each other ), but can't get a loan. You have to either pay rent or
pay your sales team. Oh yeah your bills are piling up (yay) , people that owe you money won't return
your phone calls, you can't even buy food, and the money does come it barely covers overhead while
you're missing out on all the good things like birthday parties, funerals ( i missed a lot ),traveling,no
social/dating life (your money will be tied up in your venture so you won't be taking anybody out
might as well get Netflix) , your friends will start to avoid you thinking you would ask them for
money or they're just tired  of hearing you talk about things that seems like alien cuneiform.
Welcome to Entrepreneurship 101 where these scenarios happen over and over, and you have to have
a strong determination and persistence to execute the planned objective. Oh poor baby, you thought
that you could half ass it for 6 months and then you'd be rich (i did, but that's another story) or the
world owed you something because you want to be a success, or they would just give you their
money just because you pitched a great idea or blah blah blah. I've realized that it's a long process
and you just have to focus on the work and everything else will come......I got ice cream in the fridge
will talk later .

Medical weed? What about the rest of us??

I've spent numerous hours talking to friends and family about the government legalizing marijuana. While doing so, I came across some information about Georgia only legalizing marijuana for medical use. I just have one thing to say..........WHAT THE HELL?? Yes, I went there. What sense would it make to only legalize marijuana for medical use??? I mean, I understand the fact that marijuana helps tremendously in the medical field, helping to cure cancer, asthma, glaucoma, and many other illnesses. However, there is money to be made through recreational use as well. Let's face the facts. Everyone smokes me. Everyone has no reason not to. Why? Because unlike cocaine, alcohol, and tobacco, NOBODY HAS DIED FROM SMOKING WEED!!!! Come on people! There is no real reason why the legalization of marijuana in all aspects of life should not be happening in 2014. Not to mention, the lord himself put it on earth for use to utilize, just like we utilize every other resource we have. You don't have to add chemicals to it because THC is naturally found in marijuana. This is not something you have to buy ingredients for just to create the high. You just pick it, grind it, roll it, and light it. You can smoke it via vaporizer, in a bong, a hookah, a gas mask, or a bowl. You can even put it in food. Worried about the side affects? No need! Hunger, drowsiness, and extreme deep thought are the only "side affects" you'll experience. My suggestion? Legalize weed distribution for a certain amount, maybe an ounce or two. Anyone caught with more than one ounce, you can safely assume some type of illegal distribution is in progress. This will weed out the actual smokers from the drug dealers. All in all, it is high time that the Georgia government quit stalling over a harmless plant and legalize. Who knows! This could bring the peace on earth that everyone wants, but no one is willing to work towards.
